Those of us blessed to know the Nivaclé have been moved by their cheerful and childlike simplicity, by their calmness in adversity and willingness to share, by their deep sense of community and attentive care for one another. This site is dedicated to collecting and maintaining the unique and developing history of the Nivaclé communities at Mistolar, La Abundancia, and throughout the Chaco.
To view the histories, photos, and other materials which have been contributed to the site, click on the language links next to the names of contributors listed below. Copyrights belong to the individual contributors.
If you have any photos, histories, accounts or journal entries to share, please contact us. We will scan photos and slides as necessary, returning the originals along with digitized versions on DVD. We can even digitize old cassette tape recordings you may have.
Mistolar.net will feature English, Spanish, and Nivaclé translations as they become available. (Please let us know if you are a native Spanish speaker who can translate materials from English, and would like to volunteer some time.)
